Your adventure begins with a warm welcome at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Our Upcountry Safaris representative will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha—a calm town nestled beneath Mount Meru. Spend the evening at your leisure, preparing for the thrill of the wild to come.

Day 1: Into the Wild – Tarangire National Park
Today, you meet your expert guide and embark on your first game drive in Tarangire National Park. Known for its vast elephant herds and twisted baobab trees, Tarangire is a photographer’s dream. Migratory herds of wildebeest, buffalo, and zebra gather near the life-giving river, offering a magnificent start to your safari.

Day 2: Walks with Giants – Tarangire River & Wildlife Trails

Day 3: Culture & Forests – Maasai Encounter & Great Rift Valley
Early this morning, you’ll visit a local Maasai village for an authentic glimpse into traditional life. After meeting the elders and exploring the bomas, a guided medicinal walk introduces you to ancient plant remedies. Later, hike down the Great Rift Valley escarpment or enjoy a relaxed tuk-tuk tour through Mto wa Mbu village, visiting farms, schools, and vibrant markets.

Day 4: Waters & Wildlife – Lake Manyara National Park
Today you enter the lush paradise of Lake Manyara National Park, a park known for its tree-climbing lions, baboon troops, and flamingo-fringed lake shores. Keep an eye out for elephants, hippos, and leopards as you explore this compact yet wildlife-rich haven.

Day 5: Into the Crater – Ngorongoro Game Drive
After breakfast, ascend into the highlands of Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Visit a scenic crater viewpoint before descending into the ancient caldera for a half-day game drive. With an estimated 35,000 animals, including the rare black rhino, the Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.

Day 7: Serengeti Bound – Into the Endless Plains
Your journey continues westward to the legendary Serengeti National Park. En route, pass Maasai lands and catch your first glimpse of the vast plains. Enter the park through Naabi Hill Gate, and begin your afternoon game drive across landscapes that echo with predator-prey drama.

Day 8: Above & Beyond – Serengeti Balloon Safari & Game Drive

Spend the rest of the day exploring by vehicle, following prides of lions or elephants through their daily rituals.

Days 9–10: Migration Magic – Full Days in the Serengeti
Spend two full days in the park, tracking the Great Migration (location-dependent), encountering cheetahs on the hunt, or relaxing with giraffes and zebras grazing nearby. Your guide will customize each drive to your family’s interests—whether that’s wildlife behavior, photography, or peaceful observation.

Day 11: Farewell Serengeti – Return to Kilimanjaro or Zanzibar
