Gorilla Trekking In Uganda & Rwanda
Gorilla trekking offers an unforgettable chance to meet endangered mountain gorillas in their natural forest homes.
In Uganda, treks take place mainly in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, with permits costing around $800 USD. The experience often involves adventurous hikes through dense jungle, rewarding visitors with magical encounters deep in the misty forests.
In Rwanda, trekking happens in the scenic Volcanoes National Park, where the hikes are generally shorter and more accessible. Rwanda’s permit costs about $1,500 USD, catering to a more exclusive, high-end experience.
In both countries, permits are limited each day, and the minimum trekking age is 15 years. Gorilla trekking is not just a safari; it’s a life-changing journey into the heart of Africa’s most precious wilderness.
